Gladys Hlatshwayo Announces The Death Of Her Father

Zimbabwe politician, Gladys Hlatshwayo has announced the death and burial of her father, Wilfred Hlatshwayo. Writing on her social media platforms, Gladys said:

On the 23rd of July I unexpectedly lost my dearest dad. I am shattered and still can’t believe he is gone! Those who know me well know how close I was to my father. As we continue to grieve as a family, we extend our gratitude to all those who stood with us during our bereavement. May God Bless You All!

Wilfred Hlatywayo was born in Johannesburg, South Africa on the 18th of March 1952. He was the second born to Robenson “Mathoira” Hlatywayo and Regina Hlatywayo nee Zwane.

They came back to Zimbabwe together with his three siblings and his parents in 1959. He attended primary education at Chiraa Primary School and Secondary education at Rusitu and Biriwiri Mission Schools.

He trained as a teacher at Mt Selinda Teachers College. He taught in many schools including Goko Primary School, Devuli Primary School, Devuli Secondary School where he was a Science Teacher, Chibuwe Primary School and Tafara Primary School.

He was promoted to the position of Deputy Head and served at Big Tree Primary School and Chiriga Primary School. He became the Head at Charurwa Primary School and Grassflats Primary School until his retirement. He was a great educationist, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife – Sharon Hlatywayo nee Maoneke, his 6 children Gladys Kudzaishe, Willie Tinashe, Regina, Raymond Kudakwashe, Lynnette Tatenda and Blessings as well as five grandchildren Prudence Anashe, Blessed, Ryan, Mia Saishe and Adirian Waishe.
