Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the Republic of Namibia, has appointed Major General Anne-Marie Nainda as the Acting Inspector General of the Namibian Police Force (NAMPOL), with immediate effect.

Major General Nainda will serve in an acting capacity for a period of one (1) year.

She takes over from Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo.

The appointment is made in accordance with Article 32(4)(c)(bb) of the Namibian Constitution, which vests the President with the authority to appoint the Inspector General of the Namibian Police Force.

Major General Nainda is a seasoned law enforcement professional with extensive experience in policing operations, administration, and strategic coordination.

She has served in several senior command roles within NAMPOL and is widely regarded for her professionalism, integrity, and commitment to public service.

Her Excellency the President has expressed full confidence in Major General Nainda’s leadership and her ability to ensure the continued maintenance of law and order.
