Caston Matewu, an opposition CCC Member of Parliament for Marondera Central, has teamed up with ZANU-PF presidential advisor Dr. Paul Tungwarara. They will hold a rally on May 13, 2026, to launch the government’s Presidential Borehole Scheme in Matewu’s constituency. This makes Matewu the second CCC lawmaker to openly work with the ruling party.

Matewu was elected under the opposition CCC party led by Nelson Chamisa. Dr. Paul Tungwarara is a top advisor to President Mnangagwa and runs the Presidential Borehole Scheme, which drills solar-powered boreholes across Zimbabwe.
The two men are now partners. They have announced a “massive ZANU-PF rally” for May 13, 2026, in Marondera Central. The purpose is to launch the borehole scheme there.
