Call for Applications: 2026/2027 Presidential and National Scholarships

The Presidential and National Scholarships Department, under the Office of the President and Cabinet, is now accepting registrations for the 2026/2027 academic year. This initiative aims to support disadvantaged and academically gifted students, with a focus on candidates from rural areas across Zimbabwe’s ten provinces, for undergraduate and postgraduate studies at foreign universities.

📚 Available Fields of Study

Scholarships are available in the following faculties and programmes:

1. Engineering

Electric Power & Electrical, Civil/Structural, Biomedical, Industrial, Chemical, Mining, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Computer (Software/Hardware), Electronics & Communication, Agricultural, Agro-Mechanical, Surveying, Aeronautical/Aircraft, Industrial and Systems, Auto, Space, Material and Metallurgical, Applied Geology/Geodesy, Oil and Gas, Environmental, Mechatronics, Electronics and Nano Electronics, Petroleum, Automotive, Architectural, Renewable Energy, Power Plant Engineering, Technology Processes and Productions Automation, Cartography and Geoinformatics, Chemical Technology, Telecommunications, Geophysical, Informatics, Construction, Nuclear Energy and Thermo-Physics, Waste Management.

2. Health Sciences

Pharmacy, Veterinary Science, Dental Surgery/Stomatology, Bio-Medical Sciences, Bio-Kinetics, Bio-chemistry, Medicine and Surgery, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Nature and Life Sciences, Bio-informatics, Bio-technology.

3. Science and Technology

Robotics & Automation, Geo Informatics and Meteorology, Urban Planning, Earth and Universe Science, Hydraulics, Hydrocarbons, Matter Sciences, Geophysics and Management of Urban Technics, Artificial Intelligence/Data Science, Material Sciences, Forensic Science, Mathematics and Computer Science, Applied Physics, Information Systems, Food Science and Technology, Hydrometeorology.

4. Agricultural Sciences

Horticulture, Soil Science, Agricultural Economics, Environmental Management, Agronomy, Aquaculture.

5. Business Management and Administration

Accounting, Business Economics, Entrepreneurship, Forex Management, Business Management, Business Administration.

6. Sports

Sports Science.

7. Social and Human Sciences

Drama and Film Studies, Media and Communication, Human Resources Management, Museology, Fine Arts, Design and Graphics, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Interior Design, Foreign Languages, Archeology/History, International Relations, Visual Studies, Law, Fashion Design.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate Applicants:

  • Minimum of 10 points at ‘A’ Level in subjects relevant to the chosen degree.

  • Must be 25 years or below by 31 January 2027.

  • For Science/Technology disciplines: Grade A or B in a relevant ‘A’ Level Science subject.

Masters Applicants:

  • Upper Second-Class degree or better in a relevant field.

  • Must be below 35 years by 31 January 2027.

PhD Applicants:

  • Upper Second-Class degree or better in a relevant field.

  • Must be below 40 years by 31 January 2027.

📄 Required Documents

  1. Copy of valid passport bio-data page or proof of passport application.

  2. Application letter specifying preferred degree programme (list at least 5 choices).

  3. Motivation letter (background and justification for nomination).

  4. Two reference letters from different persons/institutions.

  5. Certified copies of ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level certificates/results slips.

  6. For Masters/PhD: Certified copies of degree certificates, transcripts, and confirmation of results.

  7. Certified copies of birth certificate and national ID.

  8. Detailed Curriculum Vitae showing district of origin and at least three contact numbers.

  9. All documents must be valid until 31 January 2027.

Submission Methods:

  • By Courier/Registered Post: Must be sent by 21 February 2026.

  • In-Person Delivery: From 23–27 February 2026 during working hours at the following provincial offices:

    • Gwanda, Bulawayo, Lupane, Masvingo, Marondera, Gweru, Mutare, Chinhoyi, Bindura, Harare.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Do not submit through third parties, agencies, or unauthorized institutions.

  • Multiple submissions will lead to disqualification.

  • No late submissions will be accepted after 27 February 2026.

  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

  • Candidates must be prepared to accept scholarship offers from any prescribed country.
