4. Nedbank And Standard Bank seek to acquire Kenyan Bank, NCBA. Nedbank offered R14 Billion for the Kenyan bank, more than 80% of its 2025 profits. Nedbank has announced an offer to acquire a majority (66%) stake in the NCBA Group for approximately R13.9 billion ($856 million) in a deal announced on January 21, 2026. The proposed transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval and expected to conclude by the third quarter of 2026, involves a payment structure of 20% cash and 80% new Nedbank ordinary shares.
