Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following degree programmes at the Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences. Please note that applicants must have passed at least 5 ‘O’ Level subjects or equivalent including English Language at Grade C or better in addition to the specified ‘A’ Level subjects or diplomas.

Candidates facing challenges in paying tuition fees but have achieved high A-Level points will automatically qualify for the Work-for-Fees Programme.

1. Master of Science Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management (1st years)

   • Entry Requirements: Applicants must have at least an honours first degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management or any field.

2. Master of Science in Agroecology (2 years)

   • Entry Requirements: Applicants must have at least an honours degree in Agriculture, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Management, Animal Science, Animal Production, Crop Science or related fields.

Degree Programmes

1. BSc Agricultural Engineering Honours Degree (5 years) (Conventional/Block)

   • Entry Requirements: At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics and Physics/Agricultural Engineering/Agriculture/Geography/Technical Graphics/Building Technology and Design or any other approved equivalent subject/National Diploma in Agriculture/Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering.

2. BSc Horticulture Honours Degree (4 years) (Conventional/Block)

   • Entry Requirements: At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes in Crop Science, Horticulture, Biology and/or Agriculture, and any other Science subject or Diploma from a recognised institution in Horticulture or Agriculture/Forestry including ‘O’ Level Mathematics.

3. BSc Crop Science Honours Degree (4 years) (Conventional/Block)

   • Entry Requirements: At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes in Crop Science, Horticulture, Biology and or Agriculture, and any other Science subject or Diploma in Horticulture or Agriculture/Forestry from a recognised institution including ‘O’ Level Mathematics.

4. BSc Agricultural Economics and Development Honours Degree (4 years) (Conventional/Block)

   • Entry Requirements: Any 2 ‘A’ Levels in Commercials/Sciences with Agriculture being an added advantage or a Diploma/Higher National Diploma in Agriculture including ‘O’ Level Mathematics.

5. BSc Crop Production and Post-harvest Technology Honours Degree (4 years) (Conventional/Block)

   • Entry Requirements: At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes in Crop Science, Horticulture, Biology, Food Science and or Agriculture, and any other Science subject or Diploma in Horticulture or Agriculture/Forestry from a recognised institution including ‘O’ Level Mathematics.

1. BCom Tourism and Hospitality Management Honours Degree (4 years) (Conventional/Block)

   • Entry Requirements: Any 2 ‘A’ Level passes with commercials being an added advantage or at least National Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management /Tourism Management/Marketing Management, Retail Management, Institute of Administration and Commerce (IAC).

2. BCom Accounting Honours Degree (4 years) (Conventional/Block)

   • Entry Requirements: Any 2 ‘A’ Level passes, ‘O’ Level Mathematics or relevant diploma or equivalent from a recognised institution.

3. BCom Business Management Honours Degree (4 years) (Conventional/Block)

   • Entry Requirements: At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes in Management of Business and any subjects in Commercials, Sciences or Arts or relevant diplomas or equivalent.

1. BEng Chemical and Processing Honours Degree (5 years) (Conventional/Block)

   • Entry Requirements: Passes at ‘A’ Level in Chemistry and Mathematics or Physics, and any other Science subject. Diploma holders in Chemistry and/or related fields from a reputable institution will be considered.

2. BEng Mining and Mineral Processing Honours Degree (5 years) (Conventional/Block)

   • Entry Requirements: Passes at ‘A’ Level in Physics and Mathematics and any other Science subject. Diploma holders in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Geology, and Mining Surveying from a recognised institution will be considered.

3. BEng Metallurgy Honours Degree (5 years)

   • Entry Requirements: Passes at ‘A’ Level in Chemistry and Mathematics and any other Science subject or Diploma in Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgical Assaying and Mine Surveying from a recognised institution.

2. BSc Applied Statistics Honours Degree (4 years)

   • Entry Requirements: At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics, and any Sciences or Commercials.

3. BSc Computer Science Honours Degree (4 years)

   • Entry Requirements: At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, and any other Sciences or relevant Diploma in Computer Science or any related field from a recognised institution.

4. BSc in Computer Systems Engineering Honours Degree (4 years)

   • Entry Requirements: At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics, and Physics or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from a recognised institution.

5. BSc in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Honours Degree (4 years) (Conventional/Block)

   • Entry Requirements: At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics and any other Commercial subject or any relevant Science Subjects.

6. BSc in Cyber Security and Forensic Computing Honours Degree (4 years) (Conventional/Block)

   • Entry Requirements: At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics, and Computer Science or any other relevant Science subjects.

HOW TO APPLY:

1. Obtain an Application Form:

   • Complete an official application form, which can be obtained from the Admissions Office at Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences, Mutare upon payment of a non-refundable application fee (US$20 for regular applicants / US$50 for international applicants in the normal application category).

   • Application forms can also be downloaded from the university website: www.msuas.ac.zw.

   • Applications can also be done and submitted online from the University website.

2. Submit Your Application:

   • The completed form should be accompanied by an original deposit slip of the application fee or by a receipt from the Bursar’s Department.

   • Application forms must be accompanied with certified copies of educational certificates, birth certificate, national identity and marriage certificate (where necessary).
