
Harare Institute of Technology Announces August 2026 Intake for B Tech (Honours) Degree Programmes
Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) is now accepting applications for its August 2026 intake into various Undergraduate Bachelor of Technology (Honours) Degree Programmes. The institution, with its motto “success through innovation” and vision of “Designing the future”, invites qualified candidates to apply for full-time four or five-year programmes starting in August 2026.
Applicants with special needs are strongly encouraged to apply.
General Entry Requirements
For all degree programmes, candidates must have:

Five ‘O’ Level passes at Grade ‘C’ or better

1.0 SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY
1.1 B Tech (Hons) Degree in Biomedical Engineering (5 years)

A Level: Three passes in Physics, Mathematics and a third approved subject (Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science or equivalent)

OR National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electronic Engineering, Electronic Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Biomedical Technology, Medical Electronics or equivalent
1.2 B Tech (Hons) Degree in Chemical and Process Systems Engineering (4 years)

A Level: Three passes in Mathematics, Chemistry and a third approved subject (Physics, Technical Drawing, Computer Science, Biology or Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgy)

OR National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Chemical and Process Systems Engineering or equivalent
1.3 B Tech (Hons) Degree in Electronic Engineering (4 years)

A Level: Two passes in Mathematics and Physics and a third approved science subject

2.2 B Tech (Hons) Degree in Biotechnology (4 years)

A Level: Two passes in Biology and Chemistry, and a third approved subject (Physics or Mathematics)

OR National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Biotechnology or equivalent
3.0 SCHOOL OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES
3.1 Bachelor of Pharmacy Honours Degree (4 years)

A Level: At least three passes in Chemistry, Mathematics and either Biology or Physics

OR National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Pharmaceutical Technology or equivalent plus minimum two years relevant post-qualification experience
3.2 Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Diagnostic Radiography (4 years)

OR Diploma in Radiography or Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent

3.3 Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Therapeutic Radiography (4 years)

OR Diploma in Radiography or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Radiography or equivalent plus minimum two years relevant post-qualification experience

4.0 SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCES
4.1 B Tech (Hons) Degree in Financial Engineering (4 years)

A Level: Three passes in Commercial or Science subjects, including Mathematics

OR National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Financial Engineering or equivalent
4.2 B Tech (Hons) Degree in Electronic Commerce (4 years)

A Level: At least two passes, including one of: Mathematics, Accounting, or Computer Science and any other from: Business Studies, Economics, Physics or relevant commercial subject
