Zimbabwean rapper T-Gonzi has written to President Emmerson Mnangagwa seeking justice after losing US$6,000 in a car deal gone wrong. He claims the vehicle, sold at Yadah Hotel with fake plates, was linked to a man from Prophet Magaya’s security team. Despite filing a police report and engaging anti-corruption officials, T-Gonzi says he received no resolution and only $30 for fuel from Magaya. A year later, he remains without the car or his money.
Writing on Instagram, Ti-Gonzi said:
His excellence, I write to you as a citizen who has ran out of options to be able to recover my 6000US I lost in the hands of that man besides Walter Magaya in handcuffs. He sold me an unregistered car with fake number plates only to start running away from me just a day after I discovered the problem. He told me he was gonna return my money and take his car back and he ran away from me for over a year now. VTS took my car. This is the first time i am seeing his face and his name is Tapiwa Chikondo. He is said to be Walter Magayas security. I tried to reach out to Walter Magaya for help but I only got 30US for fuel and he asked me to come the next day and he avoided me since then. I bought this car in the Yadah hotel premises. I have reported my case to the Waterfalls police station and the anti-corruption of Zimbabwe. The anti corruption told me they are done with the investigations 6 months ago but up to this day I have no idea on what to do. Please help Mr president. I have been threatened but I have always believed and I know we have a great president and Nyika inovakwa nevana vayo. I have my agreements of sale and everything. Thank you in advance!!!
