Opposition MP Joana Mamombe has criticised Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube for what she describes as a “shocking” and disrespectful claim that the Trabablas Interchange formerly known as the mbudzi Roundabout will cost US$114 million, not the previously stated US$88 million.
Posting on social media, Mamombe wrote,“Minister Mthuli Ncube is shockingly claiming that the Trabablas Roundabout cost USD 114 million, not $88 million.
They must respect us.”
Her remarks come amid growing national outrage over unexplained cost overruns on the project, with Parliament recently grilling Ncube over an additional US$26 million allocated as a supplementary budget.
Some critics have emerged stating that this should not be shocking as they have being sending alarm on this.
