Kuda Musasiwa Throws Jab at Tino Machakaire Over Defamation Lawsuit Against Fadzayi Mahere

Tech entrepreneur and social critic Kuda Musasiwa, popularly known as Begotten Sun, has taken a sharp dig at Youth Minister Tino Machakaire, following Machakaire’s defamation lawsuit against opposition politician Fadzayi Mahere.

Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Musasiwa mocked what he sees as political overreach and an attempt to weaponize the legal system to silence critics.

He wrote “Don’t dare ask me for accountability or I’ll call you a wh*re and then try sue you for asking.”

We need new dealers. 🚬

His post is widely interpreted as a reference to the now-viral letter of demand sent by Machakaire’s lawyers to Mahere, in which they accused her of defamation after she publicly questioned whether the minister had evaded paying duties on imported luxury vehicles — a matter reportedly involving an $8 million tax scandal.

The lawsuit has sparked public backlash, with critics accusing Machakaire of using legal threats to avoid answering serious allegations. Mahere, in her original post, had tagged Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC), demanding clarity on whether Machakaire benefitted from political protection.

Musasiwa’s pointed comment  especially the phrase “we need new dealers” appears to ridicule a political class often linked to corruption, cronyism, and unchecked power. The “dealers” reference is a loaded term in Zimbabwe, typically aimed at politically connected businesspeople who profit from murky state deals.
