Zimbabwean entrepreneur and outspoken social commentator Kuda Musasiwa has weighed in on the increasingly polarized online debates around gender roles, criticizing both “alpha female” and “manosphere” narratives as divisive and unproductive.
In a candid social media post, Musasiwa dismissed the trend of turning men and women against each other, labeling it “one-sided rage bait engagement farming” often peddled by academics and influencers for clout.
“Men are NOT the enemy. Women are not the enemy. We are a species of both sexes and have evolved to be interdependent over millions of years,” Musasiwa wrote.
He highlighted the critical role of men in Zimbabwe’s day-to-day functioning from construction workers and security guards to truck drivers while acknowledging that both men and women are capable of both good and bad choices.
Musasiwa emphasized personal responsibility over ideological warfare, adding with humour.
“Let me get back to work to feed my gaddamn wife & 5 kids. And make sure everyone else who depends on me’s kids don’t also starve.”
