In a recent tweet, Temba Mliswa, a prominent Zimbabwean politician and activist, publicly reaffirmed his support for the women who demonstrated at the Zimbabwe Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC).
Mliswa stated, “I wish to reiterate that the audio going round about my support for the women who demonstrated at the SRC is indeed true & I stand by it.”
He further condemned the alleged corruption within the Zimbabwe Rugby Union (ZRU) and its alleged collusion with the SRC and Sables Trust, emphasizing the need to combat such rot without hesitation or apology.
“The rot that has infested the Zimbabwe Rugby Union working in cahoots with SRC & Sables Trust should be fought against without any apology!” Mliswa declared.
The statement comes amid ongoing protests and calls for accountability within Zimbabwe’s sports administration, highlighting concerns over mismanagement and corruption that undermine the integrity of national sports organizations.
