CEO Mudiwa Hood has received criticism for putting Dj Ollah under fire after he interviewed Holy-Ten.
Mudiwa however stated that him airing the podcast makes him equally responsible for what was said and is part of cyberbullying.
Mudiwa then produced video evidence that appears to show DJ Ollah in an interview with Napoleon Nyanhi, in which Nyanhi explicitly explains the laws of journalism to the presenter.
Nyanhi highlights especially the importance of ensuring that the accused is present or given a chance to respond to allegations before they are aired publicly.
He also emphasizes the presenter’s responsibility to stop or divert the conversation if the interviewee begins to make unsubstantiated claims about an individual who is not present to defend themselves.
Despite this knowledge, DJ Ollah allegedly allowed the Holy-Ten to continue, enabling the him to make allegations against Mudiwa who was not present to respond.
The evidence suggests that DJ Ollah was aware of the laws governing interviews and allegations, but chose to disregard them anyway.
According to Mudiwa, this makes DJ Ollah just as guilty as the speaker who made the allegations, as he failed to exercise his responsibility as a presenter to prevent the violation of journalism laws.
