Transnet will be repairing 400 locomotives that have been out of service and will be introducing a freight leasing company and new companies can lease them. Transnet has been granted a R47 Billion guarantee after requesting R100 million.
11. South African company, Wesizwe platinum was hacked and reverted to manual processes. The hack has exposed its financial and personal information, including HR information. The SABS has also recently experienced a cyber attack that paralysed all operations on 21 November. This comes after SABS has spent over 9.5 million on Cyber Security. A ransomware attack at SABS has crippled operations. Funds meant for Cybersecurity were misappropriated.
