President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s nephew and deputy minister of tourism and hospitality Tongai Mafidi Mnangagwa was allegedly assaulted by a suspected drug dealer in Harare on Tuesday.

Mnangagwa was attacked following a misunderstanding over parking space.

According to a police report, Mnangagwa and his aides had parked their convoy outside an apartment block Trude Mansions at the corner of Sixth Street and Fife Avenue in Harare’s Avenues area when the altercation occurred.

He was attacked by a Harare man identified as Antony Mwedziwendira who also had his own convoy.

Antony did not know who he was assaulting for blocking his cars until he later realised it was the President’s relative and fled the scene.
