Three armed robbers aged between 30 and 40, believed to be Batswana, were fatally shot in an exchange of fire with Botswana Police Service in Mochudi.

In a statement, police swiftly acted on a tip-off that the trio were planning a robbery.

The officers arrived at their residence, a shoot-out occurred. In the process, a police officer sustained gun-shot and is receiving treatment at the hospital.

The police have since recovered three(3) Rifles, one (1) Shotgun, a pistol, and a Revolver, together with an assorted of more than 100 live ammunition and butchery equipment, knives, and axes.

Police preliminary investigations reveal that the recovered weapons were stolen during a robbery that occurred on the 08/11/2023 in the republic of South Africa

The names of the robbers are yet to be released as investigations are underway.
