President Emmerson Mnangagwa has announced that he will not seek a third term in office, ending speculation about his plans.

Speaking at the commissioning of a fruit juice and water processing plant in Mutare, Mnangagwa said Zanu PF will choose a new leader at the party’s elective congress in 2027.

He stated that his current term will end soon and he will be going to rest.

While some have welcomed the announcement, others remain skeptical, citing Mnangagwa’s history of manipulation and potential internal power struggles within Zanu PF.
