Bulawayo Mayor David Coltart has slammed the government for allowing  Wicknell Chivayo to purchase luxury vehicles worth millions of dollars while the city of Bulawayo faces a water crisis.

Coltart has questioned whether Chivayo’s funding sources are corrupt and demands an investigation by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) and the police.

He has also called for the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) to audit the source of the money and ensure duty was paid in full.

Coltart’s concerns come after leaked audios implicated Chivayo in corrupt dealings.

The government’s handling of the matter has sparked outrage, with Coltart urging patriotic Zimbabweans to speak out against the unbridled greed.
