The Democratic Alliance (DA) has announced that it will only consider joining the proposed government of national unity (GNU) if three other political parties – MK, EFF, and PA – are excluded from the arrangement.

The DA’s decision comes as the African National Congress (ANC) scrambles to form a coalition government after failing to secure a majority in the recent elections.

The ANC has been in talks with several opposition parties, including the DA, to form a GNU.

The development raises questions about the future of the GNU and the ability of political parties to work together to address South Africa’s pressing challenges.
