African Union Chairperson H.E Moussa Faki Mahaman has condemned attempted coup in Gabon.
He said it strongly violates legal and political instruments of the African Union.
Mahaman urged national army and security forces to adhere to republican vocation and guarantee physical integrity of the president of the Republic, members of his family and those of his government.
He added that all military actors in Gabon should give priority to peaceful political avenues, and a rapid return to democratic constitutional order in the country.
