Hmetro reports that Zimbabwean footballer Archford Gutu and his wife are stranded in Dubai with eight children.
This comes after Gutu allegedly conned parents of the kids he took to Dubai and squandered the funds he received from parents.
The players had travelled to the United Arab Emirates on February 24 to feature in some matches with the promise of securing professional contracts.
Children’s passports are reportedly being held by hotel authorities as the couple failed to settle accommodation bills.
Reports indicate that Gutu together with his wife had been starving the players whose permits have since expired.
Meanwhile, parents and guardians have been asked for top-ups to clear the arrears.
