Fugitive Prophet, Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary are set to be extradited to South Africa where they escaped while on R200 00 bail and fled to Malawi in 2020.

South Africa Home Affairs officials, prosecutors and investigators , arrived in Malawi to participate in Bushiri ‘s extradition hearing this week.

In February 2023, the High Court in Malawi ruled that  South Africa state agents were required to physically travel to Malawi to answer key issues regarding the case, and could not give evidence virtually.

Bushiri is rumoured to have fled South Africa in the Malawi Presidential jet.

He was facing charges of r_ape and fraud and money laundering involving over R500 million.

Bushiri also fled with depositors funds after he borrowed money from Zimbabwe Presidential candidate, Joseph Makamba Busha’s liquidated investment company, JM Busha Financial services.
