Zambia’s President Hakainde Hichilema has threatened to deregister the former ruling party, Patriotic Front.

Hichilema through the Registrar of Societies issued a notice of intention to deregister the party for failing to provide a complete list of the party’s office bearers

The Patriotic Front was led by Former President Edgar Lungu who lost the election to President Hakainde Hichilema.

Every party is supposed to have a minimum of 10 office bearers however PF has only  presented three office bearers since 2021.

Meanwhile Edgar Lungu’s party was given seven days to showcase why it should not be cancelled.
