Minister of Information Monica Mutsvangwa says the government has ordered an investigation into allegations raised in the Al Jazeera documentary titled “Gold Mafia”.
In a statement Mutsvangwa said relevant organs have been directed to institute investigations into the issues raised.
“Any person found to have engaged in acts of corruption, fraud or any form of crime, will face the full wrath of the law”, said the minister.
Ambassador at large Uebert Angel was implicated in the gold smuggling and money laundering scheme happening in Zimbabwe.
Mutsvangwa said the government remains seized with the matter thus any new developments will be made known to the public.
