The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s Financial Intelligence Unit, with the Combating of Financing of Terrorism agency, and Insurance and Pensions Commission is investigating Prophet Uebert Angel after he was named in Al Jazeera’s gold corruption probe.
Angel is named in the two year probe titled Unveiling Zimbabwe’s Dark Secrets: Al Jazeera exposing corruption and money laundering in Zimbabwe.
In a statement written by Insurance, Pensions and Provident Funds Commissioner Grace Muradzikwa said the Pensions commission will assist in assessing the terrorrist and financial risk the country is exposed to.
The prophet together with Ewan Macmillan are named in Al Jazeera’s investigations which are expected to be coming out tomorrow evening at 8pm.
Macmillan who is also under investigations is the son of Ian Hugh Macmillan, a family of gold dealers well-known in the country.
