Kuda Mahachi has sent summons to journalist Ezra Tshisa Sibanda demanding damages for defamation.
Mahachi wants compensation for the losses he made in football and also for the knock his reputation took after Ezra Sibanda wrote damaging statements on his Facebook account.
On 7 May 2022, Sibanda broadcast a video where he alleged that Mahachi’s son, Diego had been burnt by him in South Africa.
On 17 May 2022, Sibanda wrote on his Facebook profile that Mahachi was unable to send medical assistance to his son in hospital.
Mahachi says Sibanda’s statements were based on lies and were not fair and were unjustified.
He wants Sibanda to pay $100 000 dollars in damages payable at the prevailing interbank rate.
Mahachi was acquitted of two counts of attempted murder.
Mahachi was accused of assaulting his son with an iron bar on the head and mouth.
