UK based Zimbabwean journalist, Maynard Manyowa, has wished his mother a happy birthday.
Manyowa wrote on his Facebook page :
Judith Vongai Manyowa – my babie, my love, my heartbeat, and my soul, turns 61 today.
Its been 32 years since our story began. We have made so many memories and she is my be all and end all. She has the most beautiful smile. I swear!
I have been privileged to not only see it, but also keep it. See, back in 2001 when my Dad was dying he left me with one instruction – take care of my beautiful rose.
It was such a task for an 11-year-old.
But, in the years that followed his passing, I have been nothing but a great promise-keeper!
I have been her best friend. Her comfort. Her dream. In return she has given me love, wisdom and perspective. She really is a proper woman!
Happy Birthday Mum.
I love you.
