Bulawayo local authority has started working on expansion of 200 000 capacity cemetery which is expected to cover burial space shortages which has been an issue over the years.

This is part of the project being implemented in Bulawayo which is part of various projects that are already at various stages of development.

Responding to questions from Sunday news, Bulawayo City Council cooperates communications manager Nesisa Mpofu revealed that the local authority has already started working on the expansion of Live Cemetery with an additional 200 000 graves which are expected to last for the next 20 years.

The local authority is operating with one cemetery, Umvutsha after all cemeteries ran out of burial space.
