Hichilema mourns 20 church women who perished in an accident

President Hakainde Hichilema mourned twenty members of the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) women’s wing who died in a road accident in Nsama District, Northern Province.

Eighteen of the victims died on the spot, while two others died at Nsumbu clinic, where they were rushed after the accident.

Hichilema sent his condolences  to the church and the affected families yesterday.

“We are saddened to hear the tragic news of twenty members of the Women’s Christian Fellowship of the United Church of Zambia in Northern Province who died in a road accident in the early hours of this morning which happened at Chaushi Hill in Nsama district.”

The accident happened yesterday when a light truck, the victims were in, overturned, while descending the Chaushi Hill, a few kilometres from Nsumbu.

Hichilema wished those injured a quick recovery adding that those affected find comfort in the Lord Jesus Christ.
