Almost 700 children have died in Zimbabwe due to measles since it started in April.

According to the Ministry of Health and Child care confirmed that 157 children most of them were unvaccinated due to family belief have died due to measles for these past two weeks.

The World Health Organisation head of office in Zimbabwe Dr Alex Gasasire Ntale said that measles spreads through a drop collection of coughs and can be prevented by vaccination.

He pointed out that some people in communities of Zimbabwe do not want to be vaccinated because if religious beliefs and services are not always available as they used to be before the COVID-19 pandemic.
