Britain’s Conservative Party on Monday announced that Liz Truss had been chosen to replace Boris Johnson as Prime Minister.

The appointment makes her Britain’s fourth prime minister in six years and third female leader, after Margaret Thatcher and Theresa May.

In a short victory speech, Truss said it was an “honour” to be elected after as Prime Minister.

Johnson was forced to announce his resignation in July after months of scandals. He will meet Queen Elizabeth today to officially tender his resignation.
