Cite reports that Zimbabwean professional footballer, Kudakwashe Mahachi, has sued journalist Ezra Tshisa Sibanda for US$1 000 000 for violation of privacy.
Mahachi argues that Sibanda abused his journalistic privilege by publishing incorrect and unverified information concerning his four-year son Diego, who he is accused of scalding with boiling water.
Through his lawyers, Masamvu, DaSilva-Gustavo Law Chambers, Mahachi said Sibanda posted videos, the photographic and written content of his minor children on his profile pages on several dates in the month of May 2022, namely: 7, 11, 14, 17, and 21 without his consultation or consent.
Sibanda has been given 48 hours to publish on his Facebook profile, a video where he apologises and states all the photographs of minor children were published without Mahachi’s consent.
The media personality was also advised to encourage his followers to widely share his apology video, and delete and stop sharing any copies of the content complained of.
