Prominent Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono reports that William Ruto’s Kenya-Kwanza is leading in the Kenyan parliamentary race.
Ruto’s party won more seats in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s back yard around Mt Kenya although Kenyatta openly backed Raila Odinga.
Hopewell said Kenyatta and Odinga’s pact was seen as an elitist deal against the interests of commoners.
“The Uhuru-Raila handshake and the William Ruto Hustler Nation Effect have managed to dissociate the elections outcome from a purely tribal equation as was expect by many based on past outcomes.”
Chin’ono said ethnic voting was not prevalent in Kenya’s election as people voted for their own personal interests.
