Kenya’s incumbent Vice President William Ruto is leading in the race to become Kenya’s next President.

Dr Ruto is leading with 50.63 after 695 of 46 229 constituencies verified. Raila Odinga has 48.29 votes.

Ruto was leading with over 300,000 votes as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) collates election results.

Preliminary results show a tight race between the two main candidates vying to replace President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Verified results are expected to be completely announced by the end of seven days.
