The group of girls were hired by Red Button Productions.

Blaming of foreign Nationals

The incident has taken a xenophobic narrative, with the Minister of Home Affairs, Aaron Motsoaledi, Minister of Police Bheki Cele, and national newspapers claiming that the rape was pepetrated by foreign nationals.
