The $250m project will create 700 jobs and impact the lives of tens of thousands of local people.

He added that: “It helps us diversify away from copper, turning Zambia into Africa’s leading nickel producer. As the world moves more and more towards electric vehicles, Zambian nickel will be at the core of this new industry.”

Hichilema said with Nickel mine launch and other investments like it, Zambia is fuelling the economy of the future.
