Minister of Home Affairs, Aaron Motsoaledi is set to unveil a new border management system to bring an end to illegal immigration and border activities.

The minister, who will be hosting an event at the Beitbridge border said the newly established Border Management Authority (BMA) will have the first cohort of 200 border guards.

Motsoaledi says these BMA guards will work hand-in-hand with the SANDF to control crime hotspot areas along the country’s almost 5,000 km of border-line.

The new system is expected to tighten border management by implementing an integrated and co-ordinated approach in the border management environment.
