Former Zimbabwe ammbassador and academic Andrew Hama Mtetwa has died.

The retired diplomat served as the Ambassador to Belgium, South Africa and Zambia.

In a statement President Emmerson Mnangagwa granted Mtetwa state-assisted funeral.

Mnangagwa described Mtetwa as an eminent scholar and historian, who belonged to the pioneering crop of black Zimbabweans who joined the civil service in the early years of Independence.
