Zambian President, Hakainde Hichilema, met with Zambians baseddin Belgium during his current state visit.
Writing on Facebook, Hichilema said:
Fellow citizens.
This evening we met with some of our fellow Zambians based here in Belgium.
Together we agreed that no matter where one goes, they must remember the road that leads them back home to Zambia.
We also called on them to continue representing our country well while out there as they are our number one diplomats and their daily activities reflect on Zambia’s public standing.
We expressed gratitude to them for their enormous support they gave us during the past elections including now in areas of development and we said that only us as citizens of Zambia know our challenges and must therefore work together to sort them out.
We are one People no matter the paths we take and therefore, Zambia must always come first.
Once more. Thank you fellow citizens in the diaspora for your unwavering support.
Zambia is getting better and indeed will be better.
