The Newsday reports that 31 drivers from Strauss Logistics Zimbabwe are missing in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) after staging an industrial protest.

One of the drivers was reportedly taken away by the Congolese army at Group Sil port in Lubumbashi on Saturday.

Strauss Logistics general manager Adrian Smuts, human resources manager Tawonga Machigere and safety manager Gilbert Musariri are being blamed for the disappearance of workers.

Drivers disappeared after staging a protest airing out their grievances. This did not please the leadership, they started threatening and victimising the workers committee.

The secretary for the workers committee was also taken last night by an unregistered Isuzu twin-cab at his house in Norton, claiming to have been sent by the Strauss management.
