British-born Zimbabwean Marjorie Ngwenya has been appointed a member of the Bank of England’s Prudential Regulation Committee.

The committee supervises banks and investment firms.

Marjorie ,42, said she is delighted to be appointed as an external member of the Prudential Regulation Committee as it considers a number of important issues.

“I look forward to contributing my international financial services experience in support of the work of the Committee,” she said.

In June 2016, she was appointed president-elect of UK’s Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. She was the first black African, the youngest and third woman to hold this position.

Ngwenya is an actuary and also holds a Master of Science degree in leadership and strategy from the London Business School.
