CCC leader Nelson Chamisa has congratulated British-born Zimbabwean Marjorie Ngwenya for being appointed a member of the Bank of England’s Prudential Regulation Committee.

The committee supervises banks and investment firms.

Chamisa said: “Well done Marjorie! We have our eyes on all these brilliant & bright sparks in preparation for taking off in a New Great Zimbabwe. Brilliant Zimbabweans are leading everywhere, in Africa, Europe, Asia and America but Zimbabwe is not leading. This must and will change!”

In June 2016, she was appointed president-elect of UK’s Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. She was the first black African, the youngest and third woman to hold this position.

Ngwenya is an actuary and also holds a Master of Science degree in leadership and strategy from the London Business School.
