WATCH LIVE as Gambakwe Media speaks to Dr Feddious Mutenheri about the death of prominent Zimbabwean lawyer and Human Rights activists, Dr Alex Magaisa.

Magaisa, who was known for writing the Big Saturday Read, a blog about politics in Zimbabwe, died in the UK on Monday after suffering complications from an undisclosed terminal condition.

Magaisa had a long track record after serving as an advisor to former Zimbabwe Prime Minister, Morgan Tsvangirai.

Magaisa was heavily criticised when it was reevealed that he received funding from the UK government for his NGO, the Zimbabwe Diaspora Development Interface.

After his death, Simba Chikanza, the UK based writer of Zimeye, claimed that Magaisa was thinking of challenging Chamisa for the leadership of the opposition party in 2023.

Magaisa, who served as Morgan Tsvangirai’s advisor, returned to the UK after the end of the GNU. He played a key part in the drafting of the Zimbabwe constitution.

Magaisa is survived by his wife and a child.
