South Africa Department of Justice on Monday confirmed that two of the Gupta brothers, Atul and Rajesh, have been arrested in Dubai.
In a statement, the department said it received information from law enforcement authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that fugitives of justice, namely, Rajesh and Atul Gupta have been arrested.
The department said discussions between various law enforcement agencies in the UAE and South Africa on the matter were ongoing.
The Gupta brothers and their wives fled South Africa amid investigations into their alleged looting of billions of rands from state-owned enterprises.
