South African runner Caster Semenya has had to prove to officials at several tournaments that she is a woman.

Many officials did not trust her orientation because of her physic in 2009 when she won the ladies 100m world title. She had to go through orientation confirmation tests.

She revealed that they thought she had a male organ. She offered to show them her private parts as proof that she is a woman and not a man.

They discovered that she had organs that produced testosterone. She began to take medication in 2011 to reduce her testosterone levels.

The world sporting body then resolved that ladies with high testosterone were to take medication to reduce the levels.

Caster Semenya is a two time women’s 800m Olympic champion, a three time 800m world champion and a double Commonwealth Games middle distance gold medalist.
