The Star reports that Dis-Chem pharmacies hit a 30% increase in its annual earnings despite challenges posed by Covid-19 and civil unrest last year.

Chief Executive Ivan Saltzman said the company’s revenue exceeded R30 billion mark for the first time.

Dis-Chem is the second largest retail pharmacy chain in South Africa. It has 254 pharmacy stores and 35 baby stores as of February 2022.

In the full year ending February 28, 2022, pharmacy group Dis-Chem reported revenue growth of 15.7% to R30.4 billion, and a 27.6% increase in headline earnings to 99 cents.
