Award winning Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono has congratulated Zimbabwean born British Nancy Jira for retaining her seat as councillor for Fortune Green Ward in Camden.
Writing on Facebook, Hopewell said, :Last night she retained her seat. Learn from her folks, exchange ideas with people like her who are in government where things work!”
Nancy has been a nurse for over 40 years. She moved to London in 1974 and is a member of the British Liberal Democrats party.
She was elected to serve the residents of Fortune Green in July 2021, after long standing Liberal Democrat Councillor Flick Rea stood down.
Nancy wants the Labour Council to listen to local residents on issues from rubbish to planning.
