Nick Mangwana dismisses Chamisa calls for an inclusive government

Permanent secretary for Information Nick Mangwana has dismissed CCC leader Nelson Chamisa’s calls for an inclusive government.

In a Twitter thread, Chamisa said a pre-election dialogue with President Emmerson Mnangagwa is necessary to avoid another disputed election next year.

In his response, Mangwana said 2023 elections will happen as per constitution.

“What GNU? Claptrap. Elections will happen as per Constitution”, he wrote.

Social media reports pupport that Mnangagwa and Chamisa are keen to avoid next year’s general elections, albeit for different reasons.

The reports allege Chamisa aims to form a seven-year government of national unity (GNU).
