Harare’s prominent building, Joina City has caught fire.

The bad news has been confirmed the permanent secretary in the office of the president, Nick Mangwana.

 

“ON REPORTS OF FIRE AT JOINA CITY
We are advised that there was small fire which happened in one room at the top where a BBQ is carried out. We understand that it has been contained now,” he posted on Twitter.

 

The fire is believed to have started in Gotcha Nyama restaurant on the same floor.

 

There are no casualties reported.

The shopping mall houses 72 compartments altogether and is the second-tallest building in Zimbabwe after the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.
