Some members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police have been arrested for assaulting Citizens Coalition for Change activist, Madzibaba Veshanduko yesterday.
The Ministry of Information and Publicity took to social media to announce that the officers have been arrested.
“As part of their investigation into allegations of ill treatment of a suspect in custody, some police officers have been arrested. We will release more information when it becomes available,” posted the Ministry.
According to online publication, ZimLive, one of the police officers involved in the torture of Madzibaba VeShanduko is a Constable Manyeruke.
Sources told ZimLive that he was wearing a floral blue short-sleeved shirt and carried navy blue backpack when the activist was attacked.
